Monitoring RHEL 6 Using SCOM 2019 UR1

If you have upgraded to SCOM 2019 UR1 and have difficulties getting RHEL 6 servers monitored, you probably found already a good article about this: https://blog.topqore.com/monitoring-red-hat-6-with-scom-2019/

And although you have a similar setup as in the article, you might have encountered the error below while trying to deploy agents:

Failed to find a matching supported agent instance in the imported management packs.
Import the Management Pack(s) for this platform in order to discover this computer.

The difference between environments in article and yours is UR1!

Good news is that ALL you need to do to get it working is to use a SCOM 2019 (no UR1) console. Do not rush and change anything else about your fresh SCOM 2019 UR1 environment.

Agent deployment will work normally up to the point where Status is showing “Managing”; here it is throwing an odd error: “Value cannot be null, Parameter name: lhs” which you can safely ignore and close the wizard. You have the RHEL 6 agent deployed and server monitored now!

For reference: the article is mentioning version 10.19.1006.0 of the Linux Operating System Library and Red Hat Operating System Library MPs. It is working fine with 10.19.1008.0 as well. Also in the article Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6 Operating System MP version is 7.6.1092.0; I tested successfully with version 7.7.1124.0 as well.
